Taylor Baldauf-Keiser's life changed forever on October 16, 2011 when she was driving home from a night out with friends and fell asleep while driving, causing her to flip her car. When paramedics arrived, they told her she was being care-flighted to Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton. Once she arrived at the hospital she was told that she suffered from a C2 spinal cord injury and had to be rushed into emergency surgery to save her life.
Taylor then faced many challenges in the ICU and rehab, where she re-learned how to do daily tasks by herself as a quadriplegic. After roughly 27 surgeries and a large amount of physical and occupational therapy, Taylor was able to return to high school and graduate in 2013 with her class. She spent several years taking online classes at UNOH, when she realized that a manual chair didn't supply the freedom she wanted, but a power chair didn't fit into her lifestyle.

Taylor was then introduced to Sara Spins, who supported her fundraising for a power assist device called a SmartDrive to help her reach her goal of more independence. Years later, Taylor is married and out of school, living independently with her husband in Wapakoneta, OH. Taylor now spends her time working from home and volunteering for Sara Spins.
